William Niles passed away in Coupeville, Whidbey Island on September 20, 2021.  He served in the Air Force after high school graduation learning radio technology and was stationed in Greenland and Alaska.  Later graduating from the University of Montana in Forestry Engineering.  Bill's career with the  USDA Forest Service included a Masters in Transportation Engineering from UC Berkeley, and many moves with his family  working in National Forrests from Alaska to California.

Bill and his wife Kathy retired in 1998 to Whidbey Island to be close to family in Coupeville.
